The “La Collina” (The Hill) vineyard is situated in the municipality of Brisighella, and lies in the first of the uplands of the eastern Apennines, the Colli di Faenza, in the Province of Ravenna. The vineyards are south-facing and are at an average altitude of 300 metres above sea level. They are protected in the west by the Apennine range, with the southern boundary being formed by a natural gorge, which contains a lake. From the south-east a pleasant sea breeze blows from the nearby Adriatic coast. The highest point is crowned by an observatory, which gives our cuvee its name: CUPOLA.
La Collina consists of 5.2 hectares of vineyards, 1 hectare of olive groves, 27 hectares of woodlands and 12 hectares of meadows.
The soils consist of limestone sand from marine sediments, with a low proportion of loam. The idea of the Collina Crew, based around the well-known agronomists and oenologists Francesco Bordini and Mirja Scarpellini, is to create honest wines of top quality, produced in as natural a way as possible. Naturally, the vines are cared for strictly in accordance with environmentally-friendly criteria, and entirely without the use of herbicides or artificial fertilisers. Romagna is reflected in the bottle.
